Have you ever heard about Mindfulness. Mindfulness is a wonderful skill for improving concentration and focus and shutting down some of useless chatter that goes on in our heads. It teaches us how to be really present in the moment and not jump from one thought to another. Besides it's value to your work, Mindfulness can greatly enhance the pleasure you get from the world around you. Mindless chatter? I don't hear any mindless chatter! What would mindless chatter sound like? For the life of me, I would have no idea. To think that mindless chatter would run rampant in someone's head without a thought to throttling it seems absurd... what will I eat tonight... wow, my shoes are really dirty; almost as dirty as that sidewalk over there. Gee, is it hot today, or is it just me? How come that...

Great comment Andy. We really don't know when it's happening much of the time. And that's the point about Mindfulness. It helps us see the world through fresh eyes, to fully experience it in the moment without a lot of extraneous mental chatter that waters down the
